Adrian Clifton cleaned up at Maidenhead United end of season awards on Saturday night, just hours after scoring their final goal of the season in the 2-0 win over Chesterfield FC.
The Montserrat international walked away with all five of the club’s major honours – manager’s player, supporters’ player, players’ player, golden boot and goal of the season.
It is – to his knowledge – the first time a player has ever scooped all five awards although Dave Tarpey went close in United’s title-winning campaign of 2016/17.
“Yeah I’m feeling really good,” said Clifton, who netted 14 league goals for the club this season.
“I’m happy to collect the awards and be recognised for my hard work this year.
“I’d like to say thank you to all my teammates, the gaffer, the staff.
“None of it would be possible without them.
“They’re the ones giving me the chances and helping me score goals.
“I’m going to enjoy that, take them home. My son was buzzing to see me win a couple of trophies. All in all, it’s been a good day.”
